They were born around the time
The tv took the livingroom
And just as ugly bombs were born
Their numbers made a baby boom
They came here to save the world
They grew up to try and fail
They dressed like the human beings
And braved it all to blaze the trail
So I thank that generation
Yes, I thank that generation
We were born too late to lead
To endure all the sticks and stones
But old enough to have their words
Woven into our hearts and bones
We still want to change the world
The dream is a fire that burns
To live like a human being
And pray the earth can be returned
I call my generation
Yes, I call my generation
BRIDGE
Younger ones have come of age
Seem not to know which way to turn
They only know that somethings wrong
And have the energy to burn
Well help you to change the world
You lead the way and we will follow
To bring back the human being
And give the earth her old tomorrow
So I bless this generation
And I call this generation
And I call my generation
And I call that generation
And we call the generations
For we are the generations
