House Broken

A little sparring session
With her window pane
He made a big impression
And it remains
On the wall, by the bedside
He just couldn’t say it in words

He leaves her house broken
A landscape of despair
He leaves her house broken
Her mind a mess, her heart in disrepair

Now that her favorite treasures have multiplied
Parts too many to measure shattered inside
Like the dream and the promise
He just couldn’t put into words

He leaves her house broken
A landscape of despair
He leaves her house broken
Interior design of disrepair

Speak to me
Say it in a way that I believe
Don’t do me the kind of harm
Words cannot retrieve

Lines of communication are breaking through
She has a revelation long overdue
Turn the key, speak the language
He hears so much louder than words

She leaves her house, broken
A portrait of despair
She leaves it unspoken
Her mind will mend, her heart is in repair
