Wonderful Mess

Don’t expect her right at eight
She’s apt to be at least a little bit late
Please forgive her endless nervous chatter
She hides the shy behind the patter

Her timing isn’t always the best
To her imperfect state she’ll confess
At best she’s just a wonderful mess

She will freely speak her mind
And change her view in a short matter of time
Brave and honest to a fault
But take her proclamations
With a grain of salt

I guess my time’s not always the best
To my imperfect state I’ll confess
At best I’m just a wonderful mess
Wonderful mess, wonderful mess
Wonderful mess

Don’t expect an easy life
For laughter owes its very sound to strife
If at every turn you seem to fall
Be reassured you’ve been dealt
The greatest hand of all

The timing isn’t always the best
In it’s imperfect state lies the test
At best it’s just a wonderful mess
Wonderful mess, wonderful mess
Wonderful mess
